I recently went to www.movietickets.com to order 10 tickets for the Sunday March 7th showing of Alice In Wonderland in the IMAX 3D theater. My grand total was $120.00. I am fine with the price of the tickets and, after all, this particular theater is reserved seating. The issue I ran into was the www.movietickets.com website and Stonybrook's lack of customer service. I had to go through the order process 4-5 times because I kept getting errors. On the last try I was pretty fed up and just wanted to get my tickets purchased so I was rushing through. At the very end I did not double check the date it had selected and ended up purchasing 10 tickets for the March 5th showing instead. This was my fault. I called www.movietickets.com customer service to get the dates fixed and they told me "sorry we can do anything for you. You will have to go to the theater and exchange the tickets there." I am at work in downtown Louisville. How am I going to explain to my boss I have to go all the to the theater before the show time (1:30 p.m.) to exchange movie tickets. Not that he wouldn't understand but it is just ridiculous. I have been trying to contact the theater for an hour and I can not contact a live person nor can I find a number specifically for customer service. If I purchase an item online from a local vendor, It is because I did not have time to come to their location. This lack of customer service completely defeats that purpose and renders it a useless service. Love the theater but I doubt my family will be spending as much time there without an effective way to order tickets online. I'm sure from here on out I will be to paranoid of making a mistake and no customer service to help put it right.
